Hair Dye Options for those with Dark Hair

If you're like me going to a salon to have your hair dyed can be pretty expensive, especially if you weren't born with blonde hair. Sadly for us dark haired women, we have to bleach our hair first to get unique locks. I'm going to share with you some products that don't require you to bleach your hair first. Let's face it, bleaching is horrible for the hair and adds to the cost of hair dye.
Eva NYC released a string of temporary hair dyes and you can choose between pink, blue, and purple or mix and match. For very dark hair you'll need to spray a lot of color on to have the pigment show up. "The argan oil-infused pigments help to soften your hair, while the concentrated nozzle helps you place that color just where you want it" (Ableman, 2019).
Shu Uemura added Tokyo Vibes hair makeup is a temporary hair dye that comes in purple, green, gold, and pink shades. The color attaches to each strand without the need of bleach and washes out in one shampoo.
Clairol Professional Flare Me Dark offers a wide range of colors for dark hair strands. Anyone with a color level of six and below won't need to lighten their hair with this dye. There are fourteen shades which last up to five weeks.
Beyond the Zone Color Bombz is a temporary hair color spray that come in seventeen colors including glitter. The color washes out in one shampoo.
Another temporary hair color spray is by Manic Panic Amplified offers various color options and they wash out after one shampoo. Just don't play with your hair while this is in, guess it has a tendency to come off on your hands.
Lime Crime Dark Unicorn Hair Dye which come in chestnut, maroon, charcoal, or squid which is an eggplant purple. "The hardest part is waiting around with dye in your hair while it processes. After that, it will fade out without any weird tones" (Ableman, 2017).
Garnier also has dyes for dark hair, just look for the dark intense brand.
Overtone offers hair conditioner with pigments in a wide range of color. If you already have dye in your hair, just match it or find similar to the color to keep it longer. While if the color has faded out, you're going to have to lighten it first or the colors won't work. The products aren't cheap, but they are cheaper than the salon. The product also stays in as long as you use them. You have to go by the instructions which each color and type comes with. There are some colors that will work with dark hair, but they don't always seem to show up as well as if the hair was lighter. Some of the colors will work with a lighter shade of brown, so you might not have to bleach your hair. Each color comes with a sample to show you what your hair color would look like with the dye.
