I heard a new Child's Play Reboot was in the making, wasn't paying any real attention to it since I was never a fan of the original. Now I have more of a reason to find it compelling. Mark Hamill has been announced as the voice actor for the remake.

Supposedly the remake is going to be about a doll with advanced artificial intelligence that takes a dark turn when the program is hacked. "Grahame-Smith explained some of the more high-tech concepts behind the reboot, saying, "The idea is to include what's happening today, with our houses watching us and Alexa planning to kill us...smart dolls like this are five years in the future." (Kaye, 2019).
I feel it has a more modern feel to it than the original. Child's Play was never a horror movie for me, it didn't give me that same sense of dread or terror that other movies have given me. However, this concept and with the voice actor I have a feeling this might actually change the game for the franchise. I'm excited to see how this turns out and it will be released in June as far as I know.
